ViseVault is the definitive archive and discovery engine for fly patterns — a comprehensive mobile encyclopedia app for iOS and Android. It contains 600+ pattern, color, and style variants across 7 categories — dry flies, nymphs, streamers, emergers, terrestrials, wet flies, and saltwater patterns — each with full tying instructions, material lists, history, and designer attribution.
ViseVault is launching on both iOS and Android. Join the waitlist to be notified the moment it's live.
Pattern data — materials, instructions, and history — is stored locally on your device, so you can browse and search without an internet connection. Perfect for streamside reference when you're out of cell range. Note that tying videos are linked directly to YouTube and require an internet connection to watch, unless you've downloaded them for offline viewing within the YouTube app.
You can browse and search the entire pattern library without creating an account. Your saved favorites and collections are stored on your device. Account features and cross-device sync are planned for a future update — for now, your vault lives on the device you're using.
ViseVault is available for $2.99/month or $19.99/year, with a free 7-day trial so you can try before you buy. After the trial, you'll be charged your chosen rate. You get full access to all patterns, all updates, and all new features. You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings.
Yes — every subscription comes with a free 7-day trial. Try ViseVault before you commit. If you cancel within the trial period you won't be charged anything.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple or Google. On iOS: go to Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → ViseVault → Cancel Subscription. On Android: open Google Play → Account → Subscriptions → ViseVault → Cancel. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Open ViseVault and look for a "Restore Purchases" option in the app settings. As long as you're signed in with the same account you used to subscribe, your access will be restored at no charge.
It's reverse material lookup — one of the things that makes ViseVault different. Tell the app what's on your bench, and it shows you every pattern you can tie right now with the materials you already have. It's a great way to use up what's in your collection, experiment, and discover patterns you'd never have thought to search for.
Waters connects you with fly recommendations for the specific places you fish, drawn from the knowledge of local fly shops. Select a water — say the Roaring Fork or Pyramid Lake — and see which patterns are working there, so you can tie the right flies before you ever leave the house.
We add new patterns with each app update. All new patterns are included at no extra cost for subscribers. If you have a pattern suggestion, we'd love to hear from you — email us at patterns@visevault.com.
Every pattern entry is written by us, with original descriptions, tying steps, and history. We've made every effort to honor original recipes from the original designers, and where possible we credit the tier or designer behind each fly. The goal is an accurate, respectful archive of fly tying knowledge — not a copy of anyone else's work.
Wherever possible, yes. We believe pattern designers deserve recognition, so we document the originator and the history behind each fly when that information is available. If you're a designer and you'd like to discuss attribution or a feature, reach out at patterns@visevault.com.
Because that's not what we're here for. Plenty of great fly shops and retailers already sell materials and flies — and we'd rather send you to them, especially your local shop. ViseVault exists to organize and preserve fly tying knowledge, not to compete with the businesses that keep this community running. Our job is to help you find the right pattern and know exactly what it takes to tie it.
We want ViseVault to be as accurate as possible. If you spot an error in a pattern's materials, steps, history, or attribution, please email us at patterns@visevault.com with the pattern name and the correction. We take pattern accuracy seriously and will address issues promptly.
Send us the pattern name and any details you have (designer, materials, history) at patterns@visevault.com. We review all requests and prioritize additions based on community interest.
We'd love to hear from you. Local fly shops are at the heart of what ViseVault is building, especially through the Waters feature. Email us at partnerships@visevault.com and we'll be in touch.
